Some of you will recall that in 2016, I declared my mission was to help one woman a day. No matter where I was or what I was doing, when I said that out loud, there would be a woman that would raise her hand and ask if she could be my woman that day. This was extremely humbling to me for many reasons…one being that women are not generally inclined to ask for help. Each time I asked, someone would ask for my help.
As I watched this unfold, I knew that I needed to do something more while staying true to myself and my values. If I could help one woman a day, what if I could do something more? That was how Walking on the Glass Floor Foundation came to existence. The purpose and mission are both part of my core values and my joy all wrapped up together.
I want Walking on the Glass Floor to be a rich resource for women leaders at every stage of their careers. We want you to know that you are not alone. As Glinda the Good Witch said, “You had the power all along.” Let the world of Walking on the Glass Floor be your “ruby slippers.”
When I think about what is truly important to me, I’ve never wavered. My family has and always will be number one. Number two is about giving back. While this has so many directions it can take, mine is in the form of giving my time, sharing my experiences and supporting others in their journeys.
It’s 2018 and I couldn’t be prouder that we’ve started our global WALKING ON THE GLASS FLOOR movement, which will directly help women and charities around the globe.
My sincere hope is that women will experience the Walking on the Glass Floor Movement as an effort that guides and supports them with all of their leadership goals. It will be a forum that introduces women to new confidence, people, ideas, concepts, and tools that they will not access anywhere else online or in real life.
Programs are being developed as we speak and mentoring and mastermind groups are being formed.
This website is your resource and my team will be trusted support system!
